George Braithwaite Major League

Historic Tournament at Our Club: March 8th Marks a Milestone

On March 8th, our club proudly hosted its first-ever tournament, a historic moment for our growing table tennis community. This competition was part of the esteemed George Braithwaite Major League, organized by PongSpace, bringing together talented players from various clubs across the country.

This event was a huge success, and we are grateful to PongSpace for organizing the league and providing an opportunity for our players to compete at a high level. Hosting this tournament was a historic moment for our club, and we look forward to welcoming even more teams in the future!

Four visiting teams from New York and Eastern Long Island competed in this exciting event. Among them, three teams boasted ratings over 1900, while one team competed in the 1000-1100 rating category. Representing our club were four dedicated teams, eager to showcase their skills and determination.

Our Club’s Teams:

  • WJTTC #1: Marius, Lallit, Neil, and Murs competed fiercely in the 1900+ category.
  • WJTTC #2: Our women’s team, featuring Anastasia, Aizerik, and Alla, took on strong opponents with great resilience.
  • WJTTC #3: Ean, Rahit, and Pavol made an impressive showing in the 1000-1100 rating division.
  • WJTTC #4: Our young talents, Advay, Jude, and Leo, gained valuable experience and put up a commendable fight.

This tournament was a historic milestone for our club, marking the first time we hosted a competition where teams traveled to our venue to compete. The event was filled with intense matches, sportsmanship, and a shared love for the game.
